Do I have to “RACE” my car at events?
We do not run racing events. We run high speed touring sessions. We will put you in a session group based on your vehicle and your driving experience. It’s up to you as to how hard you want to run your vehicle and whether or not you are tracking your lap times. So based on what your car is capable of doing along with your skill level and experience you are put in a group to best match that. At our Midwest Invitational we also run an autocross event day. This is done the same way as the high speed touring but with fewer cars on the track at a time as well as we record each person’s lap times using a transponder timing system.
Can I take passengers in my car?
Yes, as long as your passenger has an approved helmet, approved safety belt, they pass the age regulations of the track, sign the proper waivers, and have a good ticker! We allow only one passenger in the front passenger seat. No passengers may be in the back seat. We do not allow passengers during autocross event sessions. Note that you do not have to be a club member to be a passenger.
What do I need to participate in the autocross event at the Midwest Invitational?
To participate in the autocross event you will need to have an AMB or AMB compatible transponder. You can purchase them from places like AMB i.t. America or Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies. We do have limited number of rental transponders for our autocross events on a first come, first serve basis.
