Come Join Us at WIR in Kaukauna

Come join up for a night of drag racing and comraderie. It will be Friday June 26th with the gates opening at 4:00 pm. I believe racing will start around 5:30 or 6:00 pm so if you can't make it at 4:00 that's OK. Cost last year was $25 per vehicle to particpate in the racing and $5 for spectators. While this may increase a bit this year it's still a cheap nite of fun. Payments are to the track upon arrival. WIR (Wisconsin International Raceway) is located in Kaukauna which is about 50 miles north of Sheboygan off of I-43.

Good idea Mark H........Anyone from the Sheboygan county area could hook up with myself, Gary, Mark F, and Mike (AKA Capt. Slow). If your coming from the west (Madison, Fond Du Lac, ect) and are coming thru Sheboygan...that would work too!!!

"(Wisconsin International Raceway) is located in Kaukauna which is about 50 miles north of Sheboygan off of I-43." Hate to tell you, but Kaukauna is a long way from I-43. It is better described as being between Appleton and Green Bay about 10 miles from Highway 41.
There would be several ways to get there from the south.

I would take 41 to the new 151 bypass on the south side of Fond du lac. Take 151 north until it meets highway 55. Take 55 north to County Highway KK just south of Kaukauna. You'll know you are at KK because of the STUPID roundabout! Turn right on KK and it is about a mile to the road on your left that will take you into the pits.
Or, take 41 north to highway 441 between Neenah and Appleton. Take 441 east (north) until you get to County KK (Calumet St.) Turn right (east) at the bottom of the exit and stay on KK until you get past the stupid roundabout at the corner of KK and 55.

From the lakeshore you can take highway 10 from Manitowoc to highway 55 and turn right (north) on 55 to KK.
Take 23 west out of Sheboygan to 151 north in Fondy, to 55, to KK.
Take 57 to Hilbert, 114 west to 55, 55 north to KK.

Well, those of us who live in the great white north know we only have two seasons, winter and road construction. Some of the directions I gave you further up this forum have changed due to road construction season.

Highway 151 from Fond du lac north, highway 10 west from Forest Junction, 55 north from Sherwood (DOT is constructing a roundabout at the intersection of 10 and 55), and county D which is an alternative route to the track. These highways are all detoured.

If you are coming up from the south on 41 through Fond du lac, forget about my directions to take 151. Stay on 41 (there is also construction on 41 through Fond du lac, BUT it should be open for traffic.) Take 41 to 441 East (North) between Neenah and Appleton. Take 441 East (North) to KK (Calumet St.) exit. Turn right (east) at the bottom of the exit and stay on KK past the stupid roundabout at the corner of KK and 55. Turn left after the track on Loderbauer Rd. to the pits.

From the lakeshore, Sheboygan or Manitowoc take highway 10. Highway 10 is detoured from Forest Junction west. Go through the detour signs at 57. (If you are taking 57 from the south, turn left [west] on 10), Stay on 10 for about 3-4 miles, the sixth road on your right from highway 57 will be Harwood Rd. Turn right on Harwood Rd and take that about three miles until it ends on Cty. KK. Turn left on KK and about a quarter, or half mile turn right on Loderbauer Rd. to the pits.

If you do not want to go through the detour signs, at the intersection of 10 and 57 turn right (north) on 57. About a quarter mile turn left on Cemetery Rd. Take Cemetery Rd. to the end, about three miles and turn left on County line Rd. County Line Rd. will turn into Cty. KK after about two miles. You will stay on County Line/KK for about five miles before you turn Right on Loderbauer Rd. to the pits.

Well, some good news on getting to WIR through all of this road construction. My daughter informed me that Cty D is now open. This gives those of you coming in on 10 from the East, or 57 from the South a little better way to get there.


From the lakeshore, Sheboygan or Manitowoc take highway 10. Highway 10 is detoured from Forest Junction west. Go through the detour signs at 57. For those of you coming up 57 from the South, DO NOT take the highway 10 detour in Hilbert. Stay on 57 until you get to the intersection of 57 and 10 in Forest Junction. Turn left [west] on 10.

Stay on 10 for about 2 miles, the 2nd road on your right from highway 57 will be Cty D. Turn right on Cty D and take that about three miles until you see Cty. KK. Turn left on KK and about 4 miles turn right on Loderbauer Rd. to the pits.
